Fillers
Fillers can play many roles in spring treatments. Miami plastic surgeon Sean Simon, MD says they’re ideal for restoring facial volume, enhancing lips and softening wrinkles. He adds that they’re especially well-suited for spring, thanks to minimal downtime and no conflicts with sun exposure.
Lasers
Laser procedures, whether for hair removal or skin rejuvenation, can be a great option in spring, as long as you’re mindful of sun exposure, says Dr. Simon. “With a fully ablative procedure such as CO2 laser resurfacing, sun exposure must be avoided both before and after the treatment for a few weeks.” While non-ablative treatments don’t require the same level of avoidance, sun protection is still essential, so plan accordingly.
“There is a misconception that laser treatments such as BBL, UltraClear or MOXI are not safe to get if you are planning on being in the sun,” says Dr. Curti. “However, we like to point out that if you are protecting your skin with SPF and hats, then lasers are safe and appropriate any time of year.” If you’re open to a little downtime, Dr. Bomer recommends the MOXI laser, “which gives a renewed complexion, smooth texture and glowing skin a week later.”
Neurotoxins
“If you’re keeping up with quarterly wrinkle treatments, now would be a great time to smooth out wrinkles so you don’t need to come back until early fall,” says Dr. Curti. Dr. Simon also recommends neurotoxins ahead of summer, noting that they relax facial muscles for a refreshed look without downtime or concerns around sun exposure.
PRF Injections
According to Dr. Bomer, skin boosters such as platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) injections are among the best treatment options for spring. She says PRF can help improve skin texture, add subtle volume to the lips and more.
Microneedling
Dr. Curti says more robust treatments like microneedling—which uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating collagen production—can help prime your skin to look its best this summer. Talk to your provider about whether traditional microneedling or RF microneedling is the better fit for your goals.
Breast Augmentation
“There are plenty of surgical procedures that require fairly minimal downtime and could easily be performed in the months or even weeks prior to the summer,” says Dr. Simon. He points to breast augmentation as a great option. If you’ve been considering a breast augmentation spring is the perfect time to get one so you’ll be healed and ready to hit the beach in the summer.
Facials
While it may seem simple, Dr. Curti says a good medical-grade facial is a great place to start. From more intense microdermabrasion treatments to soothing HydraFacials, there’s an option for every skin type. Talk with your provider about which facial best suits your skin concerns and goals.
Liposculpting
Dr. Simon says liposculpting, a specialized, more precise form of liposuction, is a great option for patients looking to feel extra confident this summer. For optimal results, plan to schedule the procedure about three months before the season, so book soon if it’s on your radar.
