The end of summer may be near, but that’s not stopping celebrities from embracing warm-weather-inspired manicures. The latest to join the trend? Zoë Kravitz. The 35-year-old actress recently paid a visit to celebrity manicurist Betina R. Goldstein to try her hand at one of this summer’s most covetable nail trends: fruity nails.

Goldstein shared an up-close video of Kravitz’s manicure on her Instagram grid, describing the design as “hand-painted raspberries.” The look is both minimalist and elegant, featuring short, natural nails with a glossy, sheer base. From what we can see in the photos and videos, two of her nails boast the raspberry illustration, complete with delicate green leaves, while the rest of her nails are bare except for the sheer polish.

Fruity nails have been a dominating nail trend this summer, and the numbers back it up. According to Pinterest’s summer 2024 trend report, searches for “fruity nails” skyrocketed by 175 percent in April 2024 compared to April 2023. The report also noted a surge in specific designs like “grapefruit nails,” “blueberry nail art,” and “cute strawberry nails.”

The pros have confirmed the trend’s popularity, too. In an interview with NewBeauty, Nailing Hollywood nail artist Hang Nguyen implied that fruity nails are a common request at the nail salon. “There [has been] an uptick in fruit nail art, especially with cherries, strawberries and lemons,” she says. Generally, fruit nail art gains popularity during the spring and summer months, when people tend to seek out more playful designs,” she added.

If you’re looking for another trend to round out your summer manicures, consider al fresco nails. This trend is similar to fruity nails but incorporates more outdoor elements. “If al fresco is defined as dining in the open air, think of this trend as micro nail art with a lot of open space,” CEO of Nailing Hollywood, Mazz Hanna, previously told NewBeauty. “Al fresco nails usually start with a sheer, neutral base, and include micro nail art that varies finger to finger. Typically, the nail art is inspired by things you would find in nature like fruits, florals and insects.”

Luckily for us, countless celebrities have been sharing their versions of these trends on social media over the past few weeks. From Hailey Bieber’s “farmer’s market manicure” to Kylie Jenner’s “summer garden” nails, and now, Kravitz’s raspberry nails, there’s no shortage of inspiration. As you dream up your next (and potentially last) summer mani, any of the below looks are perfect to save for your next salon visit.
