Short cuts, especially bobs, are a timeless choice come winter. However, if you want a bold and fashionable style, the blunt bob is the cut for you. “Confidence is key to rocking this style,” says hairstylist Rogerio Cavalcante. The sharp ends and lack of layers give it an edgy, sleek look. But the box shape also uniquely frames your facial features.

Cropped bob

If you cut your hair into a swingy bob for fall, your best bet is to opt for a cropped style this winter. According to Cavalcante, the cropped cut is sweeping Hollywood because of its timeless feel. “Going shorter is becoming more popular for ease of styling and maintenance,” he says. While cropped styles may sound scary, the pro notes that they expertly display your facial features and can even provide a nice contrast to long and round face shapes.

“Shaggy haircuts are moving away from edgy groups into more mainstream styles,” says Cavalcante. For a modern take on the trend, he recommends opting for a style that has relaxed layers starting around the crown and taper as they move downward. “Adding bangs or face-framing pieces helps give it a laid-back effortless vibe,” he notes.
