For decades, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been one of the most talked-about nights in fashion and pop culture, but since the show went on hiatus in 2018, we’ve been left with a void in our daily gossip and discourse surrounding the night of angels. But, the break was much needed after truths came out surrounding inadequate workplace practices and inclusivity.
While we haven’t had an in-person Victoria’s Secret Show in half a decade, the pause gave the brand time to reflect, and they just announced that the iconic show will be returning in 2024, with a whole new make up. Ahead, everything we know about the show’s return.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024: What We Know
In an Instagram video posted just yesterday, the brand announced that they will be reinstating the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, via a Met Gala co-chair announcement–esque video montage. “We’ve read the comments and heard you,” the brand wrote in the caption, explaining that “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love—the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more!”
After ratings plummeted on account of scrutiny over the companies improper workplace behavior, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret canceled their annual show in 2019. But, after years of reflection dedicating to rebranding and refocussing on inclusion, the show is coming back. As a spokesperson for VS told USA TODAY, the new and reformulated show “will deliver precisely what our customers have been asking for—the glamour, runway, fashion, fun, wings, entertainment—all through a powerful, modern lens reflecting who we are today.” The brand concluded their Instagram announcement by writing “stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here,” and we will be doing just that.
