Stars—they’re just like us. “I do my nails at home a lot,” Vanessa Hudgens tells NewBeauty of her nail-polish addiction, an affinity fitting for her creative role with SinfulColors. “A fun manicure is a great way to try out a new trend without the commitment,” she says. “I’m really into metallics right now, which is an easy way to punch up your manicure.”
The perfect place to start: her new Cosmic Dreams collection with SinfulColors which she explains is created with SinfulShine Gel Tech,” so it gives you that gel look without having to go to the salon for removal—which is great for me because I’m always changing my colors out.”

When she has some extra time on her hands, Hudgens says she loves to experiment and be creative. Her top tip to nailing the nail art trend: “Using a makeup sponge is a great way to layer colors and textures,” she says. Her favorite combination? A moody base—she recommends Dark Matter—pressing on a lighter sparkle while the base coat is still wet, then finishing with the top coat The result is a cloud-like effect that only looks like it was done by a professional. “You definitely don’t need to be a nail pro to pull it off,” she assures us.

But a manicure isn’t the only thing the actress has been prepping for festival season. She previously shared that a high-fat diet—more specifically, eating an avocado every day—led her to lose 10 pounds in one month, but the 30 year old has been following a different regimen as of late. “I try to follow an intermittent fasting schedule more than the high fat diet,” she says, adding that the fasting, which essentially means not eating for a longer block of time in order to burn fat, is what’s been working the best for her body. As for how she gets a sweat in, she says she switches it up between SoulCycle, pilates and yoga.
