You might know Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell or Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210, or perhaps you’re a fan of her cheery social media presence or love copying recipes from her cookbook. Tiffani has lived many lives, and we were lucky enough to check in with her ahead of the new year to see where she’s at now.

On the best thing about being in her 50s…

“I don’t give a shit as much. That’s always the answer. I’m very excited about that. I’ve tried to dissect this a little bit. In your 30s, you’re trying to make a mark, right? It’s all about your career. I met my husband in my 30s, and then the priority was my children, and that went into my 40s. So it wasn’t really until now that my kids are a little bit older and more independent that I’m able to put a little more into myself.

I don’t want to use the word selfish, but I have the opportunity now to really make sure that I’m taking care of myself and my kids see that. It still makes them a priority because I’m taking care of myself and making sure I’ll be around. So I think that has a lot to do with it. Also, I’m not as stressed out about little things. I’m a lot more like, ‘Hey, it’s going to change tomorrow. Whatever. It is, what it is.’ I’m hoping I can bring in 2025 with that same sort of vibe.”

On New Year’s resolutions…

“I’m not a person that puts a lot of emphasis on resolutions because I do believe a lot of people just won’t stick to them. It’s really about a lifestyle, right? So I really tried to change my lifestyle. I’ll be 51 in January, so my health is definitely becoming a very big priority for me. I’ve changed a lot of things I was doing, how I was working out, my water intake and stress levels. I got really into cold plunging, which I talk a lot about. So those are kind of my priorities. I wouldn’t say they’re resolutions, per se, but definitely things that I want to stick to and keep doing and make a priority.”

On exercise and the importance of protein for women…

“In the winter I really try to continue to move my body and exercise. I’m in a kick of like a six days a week regimen right now. I normally do my circuit training at the gym, which is three times a week, and then I picked up pickle ball in the last couple of months, which I’m absolutely obsessed with. I really love to do hard hikes with weighted vests.

Since I’m really training a lot these days, my protein intake needs to be up to par, and that’s why it’s been so exciting to partner with Isopure and create some fun recipes [like these carrot morning muffins] to show people how easy it is to actually add a scoop of 25 grams of protein into their recipes.

Adding the Zero Carb Protein Powder just a really nice, easy way to be able to add packed protein into your recipes to make sure that you’re getting that extra boost, which I definitely need as a busy mom and working out and doing all that. Women need protein just as much as men, especially as we get older and our muscle mass and all that starts to decrease. As I’m getting older, and as a woman, and I do work out a ton, it’s important my protein intake is up to par for the amount of movement that I do throughout the day.”

On her current state of skin…

“My skin is kind of a mess right now. I suffer from rosacea that I really cannot seem to get a handle on. I’ve definitely noticed that the more water and the less alcohol I drink, the better.  I kind of stay away from alcohol, which I really try to do during the week, at least, but it’s hard during the holidays because there are parties and gatherings, and let’s go have dinner and cocktails and all that kind of stuff. So, I really try to add even more water than I normally do during that time to hydrate more. I do a lot of steaming and masks and just a lot of patience, and knowing that this time will pass.”
