With a career that spans three decades, multitalented actress, producer, author and entrepreneur Tia Mowry is ready to step out on her own this fall. Set to premiere this October on We TV, her reality series My Next Act follows the newly single Mowry as she shows fans what “unfiltered, unapologetic” life is like, both personally and professionally. We chatted with the mom-of-two and founder of 4U by Tia hair care to see exactly where her head is at as she prepares to “share more about herself.”
Curtain Call
“Having been in the public eye for most of my life, things often get misinterpreted, or people get misled. I am excited to pull back the curtain on this next chapter of my life. I’m ready to date, I’m ready to take my businesses to the next level, and I’m ready to find out what really makes me happy. I’m ready to be the most genuine version of myself.”
Social Cues
“I have a friend who gave me some really good advice on what to share with fans on social media. [Mowry has more than 29 million followers across her social platforms.] The bottom line: ‘If something is too overwhelming, or if you’re just not ready to put it out there, you don’t have to.’ There are moments I will share—and painful moments I want to share—but only when I’m fully ready. I am trying to be very mindful and aware of that right now.”
Fitness Fix
“Working out and moving are a huge part of my life. It doesn’t fix everything, but it is certainly good for the mind, body and soul. It’s definitely my go-to with helping alleviate stress.”

Health Notes
“Going through this whole process this past year has made me very focused on health in general. I have a core focus that I am pretty good at, and that is paying attention to the gut and gut flora. What we put in our bodies really matters. That is huge for me right now and something I’m putting a lot of effort into working on more.”
Life Time
“I’m having the time of my life right now! I love being an entrepreneur, and I love taking on all these new projects. Being an entrepreneur has been something I’ve always wanted to do, ever since I found out what the word meant. I remember I couldn’t even pronounce ‘entrepreneur’ when I first heard the term in high school! But I wanted to be it! It’s amazing to be involved in something that I feel so passionate about. The sky is really the limit.”
Graceful Age
“My best advice for everyone, and for myself, is this: ‘If you haven’t reached the point where you want to be, or if you don’t think you’ve reached your full potential yet, do not worry! You still have time.’ Do not put a time limit on what you can do or who you can be—especially not in regards to your age.”
