The 2-Second Way to Make Your Perfume Last

The 2-Second Way to Make Your Perfume Last featured image

It’s happened to us all. You spritz your favorite perfume on your wrist, neck and behind your ears right before you’re ready to leave the house with the intention of the scent lasting all day. But less than an hour later, your perfume has completely dissipated from your skin and all you smell is, well, your skin.

Enter FragranceLock ($34), one of the coolest products in the perfume world, and quite possibly one of the smartest and most useful products we’ve ever laid eyes on.

Considered a “fragrance finishing spray” (a new type of product in the world of fragrance), using this right after you’ve applied your favorite scent will keep your perfume locked in for twice as long than if you didn’t use it at all.

Created by a mother and daughter duo with a deep affinity for all things fragrance, the founders, Josephine Sullivan and Francine Gingras, found that every other type of beauty product had some sort of option for staying power—everything but fragrance. Hence, FragranceLock was born.

Once you’ve applied your perfume and it’s fully dried, spray FragranceLock twice over the area, which acts like a breathable mesh and slows down the natural fragrance evaporation process so that your perfume lasts longer. Using a blend of alcohol and oils, the product is able to make your perfume really last. It’s important to know that while your scent will last longer than normal, it will start to dry down so it won’t always stay as strong as when you first applied it. And, it won’t alter the scent of your perfume (regardless if it’s an eau de toilette, an eau de parfum, parfum or cologne) either.
