Tamra Judge has been as candid about her recent explant surgery as she was on her showThe Real Housewives of Orange County. The reality star shared an update via her Instagram stories with a topless snap to show how well she is healing just one month after an explant procedure to remove her breast implants.
“Implants and capsules removed,” she originally wrote in an Instagram caption describing her surgery last month. “Feeling tired and a little sore as expected. I’m pretty sure Not working-out will be the hardest part for me. I know it sounds crazy, but I woke up today with rosy cheeks, no sinus congestion and happy thoughts. I’m hoping I will continue to see health improvements as the weeks go on.”
In her original post, Judge revealed she has been dealing with symptoms of Breast Implant Illness (BII), which many sufferers describe as including joint and muscle pain, chronic fatigue, memory issues, anxiety, rashes, headaches, hair loss and more.
Along with sharing her surgery, Judge pointed out that her results weren’t from an implant swap or a reconstructive procedure, but that swelling was the cause for the fullness in her chest. “Although I do have a good amount of breast tissue, what you’re seeing is swelling, two-layer padded bra and gauze. I’m excited to be sharing my BII journey with you in September…stay tuned for more info.”
Just six days post-procedure, Judge made another post stating that her BII symptoms were beginning to improve: “I continue to feel more alive every day,” she wrote. “My sinuses are no longer inflamed. I don’t wake up with blurry eyes—just old eyes that need reading glasses. My thoughts are healthy and happy, something I’ve struggled with for so long! Even though my body is recovering, my energy level is better than it’s been in years.”
She has also stated that for this surgery she’s opted to use CBD alone for pain management, namely her own VenaCBD brand of supplements. As she continues to recover, her posts have drawn countless messages of support from others on a similar journey and curious about explant surgery. She’s also received many well wishes from her Real Housewives colleagues, like Jacqueline Laurita, Kelly Dodd, Cynthia Bailey, Stephanie Hollman and Heather Dubrow who commented, “You look so good! I’m glad you feel better!”
