Though most people know ’80s icon Susanna Hoffs from her time with The Bangles or her many film and television roles, the star is also somewhat of a skin-care guru. Just last week, the now 64-year-old posted an Instagram reel revealing her at-home hacks for smooth supple skin.
Hoff’s IG video began with pictures of her from back in the ’80s before cutting to herself in her kitchen, looking as youthful and radiant as ever. As it turns out, the singer’s secret to ageless, moisturized skin is no luxury product, but in fact ingredients we all likely have lying around the house.
“Whenever I’m running out of a moisturizer I really like, I’ll just grab something from the kitchen,” she says before pulling out a bottle of organic olive oil. “I’ll just put the tiniest amount in my palms and ‘woo’,” she says, demonstrating how she rubs the oil into her face and neck for some “instant moisture.” She also revealed that she uses coconut oil to moisturize her body, and almond oil is another regular staple in her skin-care routine.
“By the way,” she began in the subtext for the video, “I am 64 years old, I love using natural oils on my skin daily in addition to moisturizers.” If these kitchen cabinet staples will have us looking as good as Hoffs, you know we’ll be giving it a try.
