Snif, meet everyone. Everyone, meet Snif: A direct-to-consumer fragrance sampling brand that sends perfumes right to your door—with a few twists.
This try-before-you-buy brand encourages their consumers to order a Bundle Kit (three perfumes for $150), which includes all three of their seasonal scents or a Single Kit (one scent for $65). Each full-sized perfume comes with a sample to spray, smell and test for a week. If you like what you smell, the full size is yours to keep. However, if you only like one or two of the scents, you can send back the rest for a partial refund, and if you don’t like any of them you are guaranteed to get your money back in full.
Yes, you heard me right—you can receive an entire box of perfume, try it out and send it back at no cost if it’s not a fit.
While scrolling through the fragrances on their website, you’ll notice there are no scent descriptions. The names of the perfumes, though, give you a hint as to what you’re about to receive. Yes, we’re all sick of being in the dark, but Snif figured out how to make the unknown fun.
They are currently offering three seasonal scents: Way With Woods ($65), Ex on the Beach ($65), and Salty Stares ($65). I tried each one by spraying the samples the bundle came with (PSA: I’m the pickiest when it comes to perfumes), and I will say I was pleasantly surprised.
Coming in first is Way With Woods, in second is Salty Stares, and in third is Ex on the Beach (I would describe the scents but then I would ruin it for all of you). Since all of the scents are made to be unisex, I think there’s a solid option for everyone, but when it comes to trying a fragrance, it’s not always just about what it smells like.
All the perfumes are vegan, cruelty free and formulated with industry clean standards. What got me the most, however, was their lasting power. I like to spray my fragrance right after I wake up, and I could still smell all of Snif’s scents on my skin as my head hit the pillow the same night.
The combination of beautiful fragrances, an easy sampling service and long-lasting wear is enough to ditch all the other perfumes I’ve been waiting to add to my holiday list. I can’t wait to see what they have in store next season.
