When you think fall and winter manicures, what colors come to mind? For most, moody, darker hues like deep reds, browns and even blues, but in the world of nail trends today, it only takes one viral manicure to totally shift the tides. Leave it to Selena Gomez and her nail guru Tom Bachik to shake up the mani world when we least expect it, just like they did at this year’s Academy Museum Gala, debuting a futuristic silver nails style that might just take over our fall moodboards.

How to Create Selena’s ‘Cosmic Silver Gloss Mani’

Last week’s Academy Museum Gala saw pretty much all of the hottest celebrities on its red carpet, from the Jenner sisters to Nicole Kidman, Kaia Gerber and, of course, Only Murders in the Building star and Rare Beauty founder, Selena Gomez. Gomez rocked a chic yet sultry blue suede Alaïa gown with a ’60s-inspired flipped ends bob, but our favorite accessory was her short, rounded silver nails, courtesy of nail extraordinaire Tom Bachik.

While the shade used to create Gomez’s out-of-this-world mani is yet to be released from salon-grade at-home manicure brand Olive & June, Bachik did reveal some of the nail- and hand-care products he used to make Gomez’s mani so flawless. To get Gomez’s cuticles in tip top shape before painting, Bachik used Olive & June’s Cuticle Remover ($10) to exfoliate and soften skin around the nails. After creating the glossy, futuristic silver style, Bachik locked in the look with Olive & June’s Cuticle Serum ($30).
