Awards season is back in full swing, and so are the makeup looks. But, as any great makeup artist will tell you, even the best glam is only as good as the skin prep beneath it. These sculpting, de-puffing and firming tools stole the show at tonight’s SAG Awards.
Naomi Watts
Celebrity makeup artist Mary Wiles used Kat Burki Skincare to prep Watts for her red-carpet appearance. After applying the brand’s Super Nutrient Elixir and PH + Enzyme Essence, Wiles then applied the Vital Hydration Blast and let it sink in for 15 minutes “for maximum hydration.” Then it was the KB 5 Eye Recovery Masks to add brightness under the eyes. Wiles also reached for a few Face Gym tools to finish the look: the Face Ball to “stretch and relax muscles pre face workout,” the Multi Sculpt “to aid lymphatic drainage and sculpt,” and the Facegym Pro, which she calls her “favorite sculpting tool.”
Reese Witherspoon
Along with Witherspoon’s favorite Biossance skin care (the actress recently announced a five-year partnership with the brand), celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan reached for the SolaWave Advanced Skincare Wand with Red Light Therapy ($149) to prep her skin before hitting the small screen tonight. According to Deenihan, the little tool’s benefits are big: “The microcurrent and warmth from the wand deepen the absorption of the moisturizer, the vibrating facial massage increases circulation and reduces puffiness, and along with the red light therapy, boosts the skin’s natural radiance, creating the perfect glowing canvas,” she says. Deenihan followed with bareMinerals makeup to finish the look.
Kelsey Asbille
Celebrity makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez didn’t skimp on skin prep when it came to the Yellowstone star’s look. “For tonight’s SAG Awards, skin prep was key,” she says. “Before doing Kelsey Asbille’s makeup, I used the CurrentBody Cryo Roller ($35) to get her circulation going, wake up her skin, and depuff,” says Gonzalez. To enhance her glow, Gonzalez relied on complexion-perfecting products from Giorgio Armani.
