These Celebs Were Red Hot at the 2024 SAG Awards

Fran Drescher

Serving as national president of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, actor and comedian Fran Drescher hit the runway in a stunning, Broadway-worthy red sequined gown, shoulder pads included. Her gorgeous updo, red lip and and red nails painted a fiery picture of a woman in control. And she is.

Drescher says she’s feeling “victorious” on the carpet after a hard year of industry strikes and negotiations. The 2024 SAG Awards are the “The cherry on the whipped cream,” Drescher says. “We’re here, we’re all together, we’re celebrating who we are.”

There’s no doubt that her iconic character on The Nanny, Fran Fine, would be proud.

Selena Gomez

Though the rest of her look was about soft neutrals and that gorgeous white gown, we spy a firey red manicure as the final accessory for Gomez. The white sequin Versace is giving everyone bridal vibes, which might not be an accident. Her just released song Love On not only served major mob wife looks, but also has its own romantic bridal moment.

Gomez’s show, Only Murders in the Building, is nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series this year.

Reese Witherspoon

In a fire-engine red gown by Elie Saab Couture, Witherspoon walked the 2024 SAG carpet, nominated for her role in The Morning Show.

“It’s giving lady in red,” red carpet host Laverne Cox says during their interview.

Witherspoon then jokes that the awards show carpet can be overwhelming, and that the dress color could be in reference to her battery being on red.

Whether or not the dress color is a reference to her state of mind, Witherspoon looked incredible. We just hope she gets some well-deserved rest afterwards.

Naomi Watts

On the carpet with husband Billy Crudup, who is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his work in The Morning Show, Watts lit up the carpet with a glowing complexion and a stunning red lip.

According to her Instagram story, Watts snuck in time to get a treatment at Skin Spa New York, by Joanna Vargas.

Ariana Greenblatt

Owning the carpet in a jaw-dropping custom Vera Wang red velvet gown, the Barbie! actress had her dream-come-true moment when Meryl Streep passed her.

“Just casual,” Greenblatt says, carefully hauling up the huge folds of her red gown. “Meryl Streep just walked passed me. Just casually Meryl Streep.”

Greenblatt also looked like a dream on the carpet, and the deep red she chose for the evening was a topic of discussion.

“It took a lot of back and forth to get the right velvet,” Greenblatt says. “Vera actually imported it from Italy.”

Lisa Ann Walter

The Abbot Elementary star turned heads in a gorgeous black velvet gown complete with cut outs. And those reds!

Aside from her iconic red hair, given an Old Hollywood style for the evening, her lip and nails were also a bright red. Walter finishes the look with a smoldering cat eye that keeps the attention on her gorgeous smile.

Emily Blunt

In a plunging Louis Vuitton red gown, Blunt absolutely stunned on at the 2024 SAG Awards. Nominated for her work in Oppenheimer, Blunt’s look married simple and bold: a clean silhouette made loud by color and sun-burst jewelry.

Blunt, who just turned 41, was also recently nominated for her first Oscar.

“I feel like I’ve been lighter than air the last couple of weeks. I feel so happy,” Blunt says in an interview for PEOPLE’s annual Oscar portfolio.

Lily Gladstone

Nominated for her role in Killers of the Flower Moon, Gladstone stunned in an all red halter gown rippled with gorgeous fringe. Her look emphasized the gown and her beadwork earrings, keeping her hair back in a sleek ponytail.

At the 2024 Golden Globes, Gladstone began her acceptance speech in her native language, Blackfeet. The first Native American actress to win the award, Gladstone brought and continues to bring attention to the state of indigenous actors in Hollywood. “I’m so grateful that I can speak even a little bit of my language, which I’m not fluent in, up here because, in this business, Native actors used to speak their lines in English and then the sound mixers would run them backwards to accomplish Native languages on camera,” she said as she accepted her award.

Emma Stone

Celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak gave Emma Stone’s iconic red hair a sleek and elegant bun, showing off the exposed back of her custom Louis Vuitton gown. The silver dress, complete with delicate botanical beadwork, was complimented by Stone’s soft red lip: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipstick in Rose to Fame ($35). The shade’s pink and mauve undertones paired perfectly her hair and brought out the subtle lilacs in her dress.

Nominated for her leading role in Poor Things, Stone only recently returned to her gorgeous red hair. But the shade isn’t actually her natural look. “For Superbad, my hair was brown at the test, but Judd [Apatow] said to dye it red,” Stone says. “And I’ve mostly had red hair ever since.”
