“Estheticians, you have been asking me, so now you know!” celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau captioned a recent Instagram Reel. The skin-care expert, known for her work with Demi Lovato and Lili Reinhart, revealed some insider details about another one of her famous clients: Sabrina Carpenter. Answering the requests of her peers, Rouleau shared “just a few of things I use to give @sabrinacarpenter a facial”—and we’re breaking down some of the standout steps ahead.
“As a traveling esthetician, I see Sabrina for house or hotel calls, so I need portable products that fit easily in my suitcase,” she began the video, adding, “I don’t need expensive machines to achieve her skin goals,” which are to keep her skin “smooth and bump-free.” Judging by how consistently radiant the “Espresso” singer’s complexion looks, it’s safe to say the performer’s in the best hands.
The first skin-care essentials Rouleau shared are geared more toward professional use. First, she highlighted a “good lancet for easy clogged pore extractions.” She then explained that she disinfects [Carpenter’s skin] with high frequency, “always using the violet argon light and never the orange neon light,” which she noted in the comments section is because she’s “not convinced it does much of anything.”
Next came recommendations perfect for at-home use. “For exfoliation, I love the Triple Berry Smoothing Peel ($89),” she shared. This resurfacing powerhouse—which happens to be a NewBeauty Award Winner—delivers a serious glow boost. Rouleau is also a fan of using her brand’s Rapid Response Detox Masque ($69) on Carpenter. Not only does it “destroy acne-causing bacteria fast, ensuring her skin stays clear and breakout-free,” but it also “serves as the perfect glide with the TheraFace Depuffing Wand ($149) used on the cold setting for some extra skin sculpting.”
Another tool in Rouleau’s lineup is the NuFace, which she uses to “lift and sculpt [Carpenter’s] cheekbones.” The at-home microcurrent device is famously portable and adored by both editors and board-certified dermatologists alike, so it’s no surprise Carpenter and Rouleau are fans.
