After a two-month delay, the Oscars are back in full force—and, as seen on last night’s non-virtual (!) red carpet, so are the radiant complexions and high-fashion looks.
Among the beaming A-listers we’ve been missing on our screens was Best Actress presenter Renée Zellweger. Celebrity makeup artist Dana Michelle Hamel prepped Zellweger for last night’s ceremony, and her secrets, as usual, are rooted in best-in-class skin care.
A match made in skin-firming heaven, Hamel relied on the Pause Fascia Stimulating Tool ($115) and La Mer skin care to “help hydration, improve blood flow, support cell turnover, remove waste, boost collagen production, and optimize overall skin nutrition,” she says.
The Pause tool, Hamel notes, “is in a class of its own. It’s an FDA-cleared Class 1 medical device engineered to stimulate fibroblasts, which are collagen-producing cells within the fascia connective tissue.”
To deliver serious hydration and a smooth glide for the device, Hamel first applied La Mer Moisturizing Cream ($190) to Zellweger’s face and neck. “With light pressure, I used a combination of long, slow strokes and fast, short, strokes in multiple directions to help stimulate blood flow,” she explains.
Hamel finished off with La Mer The Concentrate, Treatment Lotion, and Lip Volumizer. “The whole treatment takes approximately five minutes—and it’s the best five minutes you’ll ever give your skin,” says Hamel.
To create the star’s radiant makeup look, Hamel mixed “a drop” of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer ($44) in with Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Foundation ($44). “This helps to create a fresh, dewy look,” she says.
