You can’t accuse Martha Stewart of the artful humble brag when she’s made a career out of showing off her talents, but the MVP of good, stylish living played coy yesterday when she detailed the benefits of her mostly chlorine-free pool while delivering one of the hottest selfies on social media.
The 78-year-old television host posed from her East Hampton pool in 89-degree weather with a sultry lip and come-hither eyes for a selfie that has caused quite a stir. In the caption, Martha tells followers about her “natural, concrete finish, no-paint pool” and called it a “nice place to swim.” However, fans were quick to point out that Martha wasn’t swimming and she looked smoking hot!
The viral post drew comments like “Oh Martha!,” with lots of fire emojis to indicate approval of this new sensual side of Stewart we haven’t seen before. Comedian Heather McMahan wrote, “Wow Martha!!! Yes queen!!! Omg!!! You are giving me life!!!! I’m on my way over!!” Leah McSweeney of The Real Housewives of New York City encouraged the homemaking mogul with an, “OMG Martha with thirst trap, I love it.”
Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, Chelsea Handler joined in on the Martha love by capturing her own sexy dip in the selfie pool. “I’m here to take @marthastewart48’s swimming lesson,” wrote Handler. “If I look this good at 78 I better still have a pool to show myself off in.”
Stewart quickly approved of Handler’s attempt, but not without first giving her some Martha-style constructive criticism. “Dear Chelsea, I’m so happy that you liked my post well enough to emulate it. I do think my pool is a little bit prettier than yours and that my facial expression is a little bit more relaxed,” commented Stewart on the snap. “Nevertheless you are a beautiful girl and F@#$ing too young to be emulating me. Continue with your comedy, your humor, and your amazing ability to gather around you political liberals. We need it! Love Martha.”
And with those encouraging words, we too say, continue with your at-home glamour shoots Martha. There is nothing more inspiring than to see a woman feeling beautiful at any age. It’s a good thing. We need it!
