In the wake of Martha Stewart’s historic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover, there was only one thing on our minds: How does her skin look so good? At 81, Stewart has gone on record denying that plastic surgery is behind her ageless skin, saying that it takes a lot of consistent work to have skin this good.
“I’ve had absolutely no plastic surgery whatsoever,” Stewart explained to Variety back in May. “I drink green juice every day. I take my vitamins. I eat very healthfully. I have very good skin doctors. I’m very careful in the sun. I wear hats and I wear sunblock every single day.”
But that didn’t explain how exactly she got that coveted glow. Sure, being healthy and wearing SPF will make your skin healthy and happy, but there had to be some other secret to that luminous complexion. In an Instagram video posted on Friday, Stewart says that she’s been asked countless times since the cover released.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Stewart teases in a voiceover. She holds up a champagne glass full of green juice and takes a sip. “The first ingredient is green juice, of course,” she says. “Get that down, and then get to work.”
The next two steps are where it gets really interesting.
“My real secret? Lumi Glotion,” Stewart says, showing the camera a tube of L’Oréal Paris’ True Match Lumi Glotion ($16) which is then applied with all over her face and neck. “Also (apply) across your collarbones, which is really sexy.”
After her makeup is finished, Stewart’s already gorgeous skin looks even more luminous and refreshed, leaving her feeling cover ready.
