Before five celebrities all wore the same shade of CHANEL’s 31 Le Rouge Satin Lipstick to the Golden Globes earlier this month, the CHANEL lipstick of the season was undeniably Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Beautifying Tinted Lip Balm. Specifically, 928 Pink Delight—the shade Sofia Richie Grainge wore at her wedding and Barbie herself Margot Robbie wore to the film’s London premiere.
As the name suggests, Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Beautifying Tinted Lip Balm is more of a lip balm than traditional lipstick. It’s formulated with hydrating oils and antioxidants that’s comfortable and makes lips look smoother and healthier day after day. In my opinion, its best feature is the how the buildable color evolves as it settles on lips. At first the finish is subtle and shimmery, but as the color sits it becomes opaque without sacrificing any of its radiance. To put it simply, it just looks better with time.
CHANEL made the ultimate ultra-flattering pink.
When I wear lipstick I gravitate to shades in the rose, berry and mauve families, yet they never feel easy enough to wear every day. Still, I had my reservations about 928 Pink Delight. Maybe because I was a young twenty-something in the early aughts, but I too clearly remember the shiny, frosty lip colors that dominated the era. I just assumed a shimmery, petal pink lip would wash me out. I’ve never been more happy to be wrong. Pink Delight is an incredibly flattering soft wash of color that I believe brightens my entire complexion.
Rouge Coco Baume has by far exceeded my expectations, so naturally I had to get another shade. This time I went a little closer to my usual color palette, shade 918 My Rose. It’s a refreshing pop of pink that effortlessly wakes up my pale winter skin. Another 10/10.
To say CHANEL’s Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Beautifying Tinted Lip Balm lives up to its celebrity hype is an understatement. Grab any of the 12 flattering shades to see for yourself on CHANEL.com.
