From increased conversation surrounding the topic to brands founded by some of today’s hottest male celebrities, male skin care is surely having its moment. Despite the fact that skin-care practices for men are gaining popularity, a new study by CeraVe has revealed that more men than we may have thought have admitted to not having a skin-care routine at all.
CeraVe’s recent study that a whopping 1 in 3 millennial and Gen Z men do not have a skin-care routine and an even larger portion, 73%, have admitted that they need an intervention for most of their self-care habits, with skin care being the area where most help is needed.
More specifically, the study found that 81% of millennial and Gen Z men don’t moisturize their face while 65% admit to not washing their face daily. Even more shocking than the lack of skin-care practice, CeraVe’s survey also found that men’s attitude towards skin care still has a long way to go: 50% of male participants said they would rather go on a bad date than practice a regular skin-care regimen.
