Sheryl Crow’s sleek, honey-hued strands are currently cut in a modern straight style—making her look years younger now than she did with previous cuts (like the one she is seen wearing here in 2000). The songstress apparently found out what flatters her face best and went from an aging style to a vibrant and youthful look.
“The number-one aging hairstyle is hair pushed forward around the ears and face. Also, blow-drying short to medium length hair and poofing out the sides makes the hair flatter on the top and rounder on the sides, creating a horizontal line across your face that accentuates lines and wrinkles,” says Nicole Descoteaux, senior stylist at Butterfly Studio salon in New York. Whereas the right cut and color can instantly take years off your appearance. “Shorter hair definitely gives a more youthful look. However, the length should be dependent on your face and body shape. A soft, textured cut [like Sheryl’s] can erase years,” she says.
To get a casual, wavy look like Sheryl’s, apply a leave-in conditioner to the hair, twist pieces of the hair around your fingers and blow-dry it.
