If you have ever considered doing a juice cleanse, you might first want to think about what you’re going to do after you’ve ridded your body of all its toxins, lost a few extra pounds and achieved clearer skin. After all, you don’t want to undo all of those body-perfecting benefits and return to the bad habits that put you in need of a cleanse (or these spa detox programs) in the first place.
DeliverLean’s raw vegan chef Alina Zhukovskaya, explains, “After experiencing a liquid cleanse, your digestive system should be well-rested and therefore needs to be introduced to cooked foods slowly. In order to keep the results of your detox long-term, start with easily-digested foods first to warm-up your system for more complex meals.”
Following a juice cleanse, Zhukovskaya suggests starting with a 100 percent vegan diet for about a week before reintroducing cooked lean animal proteins like eggs, fish and poultry, on or around day eight post-cleanse. “The reason why we want to have most of the food here raw is because it is full of the enzymes and vitamins, which in turn will supply you with their vibrant energy. When food is cooked with heat, many of essential nutrients are lost and therefore your body can get under-nourished even when you are eating large meals.” One of our own editors just went vegan, read how it’s been changing her skin.
Understanding portions and the importance of fresh ingredients are essential to helping you make the right decisions about what you’re eating. But for those who lead a hectic lifestyle, it’s not always easy to make good decisions when you need to eat on the run. And even after a cleanse, it’s often easier to gravitate back to old habits. This is where delivery diets come in. Delivery diet meals are portion controlled, prepared with healthy ingredients and perfect for those who are always on the go, providing an easy option to help you transition to a healthier lifestyle.
