She’s the firecracker that’s had a heavy hand in stirring things up the last few seasons and Southern Charm’s Madison Lecroy says she’s back next year for more but hoping she’s just an observer. Days away from saying “I do” to fiancé Brett Randle, she shares we might see more of him on the show next season. “I’ve been offered to come back as a main role, which they offered me last year, but I just decided that my relationship and my family was more important and didn’t want to expose them if they didn’t want to be on T.V. So, this time I’m working on it,” she says. Just before her big day, she chatted with us about all her first Bravocon, being Jessica Simpson’s lookalike and all the details behind her pre-wedding skin and hair prep.
What is your favorite memory from Bravocon? Did you interact with stars from other shows?
“You know, honestly, it was just how well everyone got along. Even from my cast personally, which I wasn’t really expecting because it’s never been the case. Everybody had positive vibes and we heard so many kind things from all the fans—that was really nice. Being in the same place at one time with all these girls that I fan girl over and love, like Vanderpump Rules, I’m a huge fan of those girls. Obviously, I love Paige and Winter House and Summer House, so meeting a few of them was great. As far as gossip, I surprisingly stayed out of any drama that weekend, so we’ll see. But so far so good.”
Congrats on next season. Will we be seeing your new marriage on the show?
“Yes, you’ll see us on the show. Brett is more on the shy side and he might be my soundboard to vent to. I don’t think you’re going to see anything crazy like exes having any involvement in my current situation. It’s the kind of the thing that’s like if he comes on the show, you’re damned if you do, you’re damned if you don’t. If he doesn’t, people say ‘Oh, what is he hiding?’ Then if he does the comments are, ‘Oh, he’s using you.’ We’re both nervous about having any negativity putting a damper on something that has been so good and that we haven’t had any issues with.”
You were Patricia Altschul’s hairstylist for a long time before you got on the show. How did your relationship start?
“When I was 18 years old, I was the assistant at a salon on King Street in downtown Charleston, and I started off as being the shampoo girl. I just worked my way up until one day Patricia’s like, ‘You’re the only person that doesn’t cancel on me, you’re always reliable and I’m going to train you on how I like my hair done.’ I was like, ‘Absolutely, whatever you want.’ So, I started doing that and I will occasionally do it for her now, but she needs someone that can come to the house and unfortunately, I can’t do that every other day like I used to. I’m hoping to open a salon in 2023 where I can have a bunch of girls and we can just have fun and I can train them to take over all the clientele that I have.”
Everyone comments on your resemblance to Jessica Simpson. Have you met her?
“No, but I’m kind of like ‘Hey, when are you going to recognize that I’ve been you for Halloween for the last six years of my life?’ I will say I always get comments that I look like her or the Dukes of Hazzard or ‘Daisy Duke’ Jessica. I am a huge fan and I think it kind of started when I was like 18 or 19 when I started to wear hair extensions. That’s kind of when it started, and it’s stuck forever. If she ever needs a doppelgänger, I’m her girl.”
What is your skin-care routine like?
“I go to a place here in Charleston called Ella Ora and see Kristen Joy VanGuilder who people come from all over to see, I’m lucky to get an appointment. She has me on MBR products, it’s a German brand. I have suffered with rosacea recently and she has me on all these calming products. I’ve had to chill out on my workouts and the red wine unfortunately because of it, but I do use all the MBR products religiously. I wash my face at night with the cleanser ($98) and do my healing mask ($330) and wake up to no texture and just radiant skin, which is hard when you are wearing like all this T.V. makeup, and it can get a little congested. I always follow up with the EltaMD Light Tinted Susncreen ($35).”
What treatments have you done to wedding prep?
“Let me tell you the one facial that I just did because it’s recent, but it was to help with rosacea. Ella Ora hooked me up with a DyeVL laser treatment. It wasn’t painful and I didn’t have any downtime, so I didn’t look crazy for days or anything like that. It just smooths out the skin and is good for rosacea. I’ve been doing that and then just your signature facials.”
Any big hair plans for your wedding day?
“Yes, I will be wearing my Great Lengths hair extensions. I think surprisingly a lot of people don’t know this about me, but I have a very natural, textured curl to my hair. I’m going to embrace that considering I’m getting married on the beach and I know that my hair naturally is going to go that way probably already. That’s going to be my plan, things change, so we’ll see how it works.”
What about your friendship with Austin? Is he going to be OK?
“I never know if he’s going to be okay. Because literally, it changes every day, but I’m fine, though. I think that if I can remain as nice as I can that he will do the same, at least I hope so. I think we can kind of laugh at all this, and you know, it’s almost just like a joke. I think he wishes that he could get rid of me but I don’t think that they want me to go anywhere. We don’t know at this point. He’s just got to smile and go with it.”
