Even the most fanatical followers of Bravo’s Real Housewives’ franchise might have missed this one: New York’s own Luann de Lesseps (yes, the countess) has partnered up with the luxe-spa line Sonäge, a botanical-powered, woman-owned brand that specializes in the purist of ingredients—and she’s sharing some of her best beauty secrets in the process. We recently caught up with Lesseps to learn about the collaboration and get the inside scoop on her role in curating the “skin-care survival kit.”
I’m sure you’re approached a lot about collaborations—why this brand?
I’ve used many products from spas all over the world and Sonäge has always been at the top of my list. I like that the name means “she looks good for her age” because people always say that to me. The quality and the effectiveness of the products are up to the standards that I look for in skin care and, best of all Sonäge, is natural and cruelty-free.

Have you always been a fan of natural beauty products?
I think it’s important to use clean products and made in the USA. I have always (tried) to make sure that I nourish myself with the best possible—whether that be food, fashion or beauty products. I want my products to not only make me look good, but to feel good while I am using them. Periodically, I explore options to substitute with “cleaner,” more wholesome options. And it has made a huge difference in my appearance and the way I feel and something I am 100-percent a fan of.
If you had to choose one product from the line, what would it be?
It’s tough to say. I love all the products, but the glycolic Glow To Go Peel Pads ($30) and the Soothing Mist ($24) are my faves. The Glow Pads take away any leftover residue that I may have missed and brightens my skin. The Soothing Mist is a great refresh post yoga or on the go. It also helps my Botanica Souffle moisturizer absorb better. I am really excited to share my favorites in one bag: Lu’s Survival Kit ($150) comes with a Soothing Cleanser, Soothing Mist, Glow To Go Glycolic Pads, Botanica Souffle Creme and Luster Eye Creme.
Any other beauty secrets you swear by?
I regularly get facials every couple of months, exercise and drink plenty of water. The key for me is to not to get too much sun exposure.
What’s the last beauty-related thing you did for the first time?
During COVID, I could not get my professional facials, so I have been using this new skin-care tool that we are launching: The FRIOZ Icy Globes Facial Massager that helps with tightening my skin and smoothing my fine lines.
Any quarantine beauty blunders?
I use a 10-Minute Root Hair Coloring Spray in brown to cover COVID grays because salons were closed. We’ve had to do Zoom interviews for #RHONY from home and the gray look is not something I’m ready for just yet.
What are you doing wellness-related to stay relaxed during this time?
To stay calm, I do Kundalini yoga, walk my dog and try to mediate daily before I leave my room.
