There is no short way to sum up the legacy of the Kardashian/Jenner matriarch. As the saying goes, the devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder. Over the past several decades, Jenner has not only birthed some of the most iconic celebrities of our time but is largely if not primarily responsible for helping them build their empires. From Kylie’s billion-dollar cosmetic brand to Kim’s star-studded shapewear line, Jenner’s work speaks for itself. Today, Jenner celebrates her 69th birthday. To honor the “momager,” we’re taking a look at some of her best beauty moments throughout the years.
Circa 2001
While it might be an exaggeration to say that Jenner invented the pixie cut, she has been rocking the cropped style since her kids were mere toddlers. In the above photo taken at the 2001 pre-Grammy party, Jenner sported her signature black pixie cut, a moody gray-eye look and a glossy nude lip that is so early 2000s.
The Shag Era – 2007
While Jenner has never strayed too far from her short strands, she has experimented with longer lengths. She had a slightly shaggy style at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in 2007. Jenner kept her glam consistent with a black, tight-lined eyeliner look paired with gray shimmer shadow and another glossy nude lip.
Clean and Coiffed – 2014
At the 22nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party in 2014, Jenner debuted a more coiffed look in comparison to her carefree shag of the mid-2000s. She arrived at most red carpet events in the early- and mid-2010s with her short strands pushed back and kept off her face. Her ageless complexion shines in these photos. I mean, between 2001 and 2014, her skin looks like it hasn’t aged a day.
‘Momager’ 2.0 – 2020
By 2020, Jenner had reached her full “momager” form, transforming her signature look into a modern and chic style inspired by the likes of her fashionable daughters. In 2020, Jenner opted for a lighter hair color and moved into a dimensional brown. She kept the rich black motif present through her glam, which is significantly more dramatic in the eyes and brows. Still, she never strayed from her classic nude lip.
Today
The Jenner we know and love today is a culmination of her iconic beauty looks throughout the years, as seen through her 2024 Met Gala look pictured above. Her hair has transitioned back into a deep brunette, and the classic pixie shape is back too. Her glam today is still front and center with a tight-lined, smokey eye and a dual-toned mauve lip that spices up her classic nude style.
