With some of the latest and greatest skin-care products coming from Asia, it’s no surprise that the biggest consumers would come from the region. But they’re not exactly whom you would expect. A report by Euromonitor International recently revealed Korean men, that’s right—men, take up a huge portion of global skin-care product sales.

In fact, Korean men take up about 21 percent of total global cosmetic sales, making South Korea the male makeup capital of the world. What’s more, the report claims that Korean men spent about $495.5 million on cosmetics last year and that number is expected to grow to $885 million at the end of this year.

This comes as a drastic change since the ideal image of a man in South Korea used to be more masculine. Experts say that Korean men are spending more on skin-care and cosmetics due to the pressure to make a good impression for potential jobs and romances.
