The final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians may have wrapped, but Kim is just getting warmed up. This morning, the entrepreneur and mother of four announced that her shapewear line, SKIMS, will play a major role in this year’s Olympic Games, serving as Team USA’s official provider of undergarments and pajamas for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, as well as for the Paralympics.
“Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad,” Kardashian captioned her latest Instagram post revealing the news. “As I would watch the athletes compete, I would grow to understand the dedication and honor being a part of the Olympics embodied. I traveled w my stepdad and family to all different cities for the Olympic trials, the Olympics and track meets of @caitlynjenner’s and at every stop I would buy an Olympic t-shirt as a souvenir.”
“When I received the call inviting Skims to be a part of @TeamUSA ??, every moment I’ve spent admiring the strength and energy of the Olympians from the sidelines came full circle,” she continues. “I am honored to announce that @skims is designing the official team USA undergarments, pajamas and lounge wear for the athletes this year in Tokyo and the same pieces will be available in a capsule collection at SKIMS.COM.”
As PageSix reports, Team USA will be wearing Ralph Lauren uniforms as they have since 2008, but Kardashian’s news marks the first time Team USA has named an official underwear provider.
Chosen to model the line were none other than soccer star Alex Morgan, basketball player A’ja Wilson, swimmer Haley Anderson, Paralympian Scout Bassett and track & field standout Dalilah Muhammad. Lucky for us, the collection will also be sold within a capsule collection to be available at SKIMS.com.
