But it’s not just the store opening that has us talking—it’s how founder Kim Kardashian celebrated: with a Skims-inspired manicure at the official launch party.
Kardashian arrived at the party with long, almond-shaped nails featuring a glossy, light pink base and raised 3D detailing that spelled out “SKIMS” on two of her nails. On one nail, the brand name stretched across the entire surface, while on the other, it was written multiple times in a smaller, repeating font. While Kardashian didn’t tag her nail artist, celebrity manicurist Kim Truong reshared the video to her Instagram Story—a pretty solid confirmation that she was the creative mastermind behind the look. Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity to debut a manicure inspired by her brand. Beyoncé took a similar approach for the Paris launch of her whiskey brand, Sir Davis, this past October, stepping out with a glittery gold manicure featuring two accent nails with a 3D sculpted horse on a glossy black circle, perfectly matching the brand’s logo. The blend of subtle branding and nail art made the look unforgettable, much like Kardashian’s recent manicure.
