Short hair is having a major moment and Kendall Jenner is the latest celebrity to embrace the trend.

On Tuesday, November 12, the model shared a series of black and white editorial shots snapped by esteemed photographer Mert Alas. Not only is she topless in the photo, but arguably what’s a hell of a lot more distracting is her hair, styled in a sleek, straight, center-parted bob that falls just above her shoulders.

Jenner’s new chop comes just weeks after she briefly went platinum blonde. Now, back to her signature dark brown, the bob is a bold departure from her usual long hair. The last time we recall her wearing her hair this short was around 2017, aside from a few editorial wigs—and judging by the comments section, fans are absolutely here for the change.

“Short is the new long, baby,” one fan commented, a sentiment that’s racked up thousands of likes. And it seems like celebrities agree. A-listers like Natalie Portman, Victoria Beckham and even Jenner’s own half-sister, Kim Kardashian, have all stepped out with lobs or bobs recently. And we can only imagine how many are next.

Hairstylists are backing it, too. Wes Sharpton, Hairstory Pro and educator, previously told NewBeauty that the bob is one of the It haircuts of the season. “I think the most popular trend that we’re going to see for fall is shorter haircuts with stronger lines,” he shared. “We’ve had longer, shaggy, softer shapes for a while now, so I think the pendulum will swing the opposite way and shift to more bobs and a lot of very short hair.”

In other words, if you’re thinking of going short, now is definitely the time.
