Kendall Jenner is an expert at a lot of things: modeling, fashion, even owning her own tequila empire. When it comes to her personal, behind-the-scenes beauty routine, though, she tends to keep to herself. A self-proclaimed tomboy for much of her life, the elder Jenner sister has always been one of the less beauty-centered of her famous family, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a curated lineup in the wings.
In this day and age, it’s common for celebrities to share almost everything about their lives, which is exciting, but when we get a look into the minds of A-listers who share less, we’re exceptionally attentive. Just today, Kendall appeared on Vogue’s coveted Beauty Secrets series, showcasing her favorite cosmetic treatment for acne scarring and her go-to products.
Kendall Jenner’s Acne and Post-Acne Skin-Care Routine
Returning for her fourth Vogue Beauty Secrets video, Jenner appeared on camera in a chic pajama top and some golden eye masks, eager and ready to share her beauty favorites, centering the routine around what she calls her “Spring French Girl” makeup. Before going into her glam routine, though, she let viewers in on her skin prep, which starts with an 100 percent virgin coconut oil from Shea Moisture ($10) and gua sha moment.
While Jenner’s skin is acne-free at the moment, she—like many of us—struggles with acne scarring and post-acne marks, revealing in her Beauty Secrets video that she swears by microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma). “I really love that for my scarring,” she says, “I think it has anti-aging qualities as well, I’m not really sure, but I really like it. It makes my skin feel really healthy.”
In terms of skin care, Jenner starts the day off with the Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser ($48). “They tell you on the back of the bottle to apply this to a dry face so that’s what I do,” she explains, “I am super anal about washing my face because I am acne prone,” she continued on to reveal, “I’ve had acne my whole childhood and some of my adult life so I am super on top of my routine.”
She then goes in with the viral La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream ($200), patting it into her skin while explaining how her skin-care journey has been “up and down.” “I have good days and bad days like everyone does but I feel like I’m in a good place right now. I get hormonal acne and will get little breakouts when I’m around my period and stuff like that.”
As with any good skin-care routine, Jenner finishes her routine with EltaMD’s UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 ($43). “I love this stuff and have been using it for years,” she says, “Sunscreen is so important. I try to keep my face out of the sun and I’ve been big into hats these days as I’m getting older and learning more about protecting your skin.”
