Kelly Ripa loves sharing photos of her and her husband, Mark Consuelos, on Instagram. All it takes is one look at her social media profile and you’ll see a slew of images of the pair, most of which are fawned over by fans. However, her most recent image—which is a side by side of her and Mark in 1995 next to one of them in 2009—got a much different reception this time around.

“Double #fbf 1995 vs. 2009 before I discovered that I needed a stylist. And had a GOOD side.” she wrote in her caption. While they look gorgeous and happy in both images, some commenters had other things to say about it. One Instagrammer wrote, “and a new nose. Bless ur heart honey baby poor thing,” suggesting the star got a nose job. Then, a second commenter replied on the post, “nose job and veneers.”
Unsurprisingly, Ripa had no time for this unsolicited commentary. “Same nose,” Ripa simply wrote in one Instagram comment.
She wasn’t quite done though, writing back to the second commenter, “I’m gonna tell you right now. No nose job, and no veneers. I wouldn’t be sleeping in a retainer every night if I had.” She finished it off by sarcastically saying, “You guys do know how to make a girl feel special.”
Ripa wasn’t the only one who was bothered by these nose job remarks though. Her fans totally had her back, writing things like, “sad to see women tearing down other women to make themselves feel good,” and “if only people could subscribe to ‘you do you’…smh. You’re gorgeous, and always have been!”
Her husband even stepped in and wrote, “I can attest.. Same nose. No veneers. And a fierce retainer.”
As much as we hate to see women tear down other women based on their looks, it’s always nice to see the support of others that step up in times like these. Kudos to Ripa for handling the situation smoothly.
