As co-host of Food Network’s Emmy-nominated talk show The Kitchen and host of Cooking Channel’s Beach Bites with Katie Lee, Katie Lee Biegel knows food. Now, she’s about to add the world of wine to her resume, via Kind of Wild Wines, a globally crafted, certified organic and certified vegan direct-to-consumer wine brand—there’s one Sparkling, one Rosé, three Whites, and four Reds—that counts her as a partner and co-founder. We recently caught up with the celebrity chef to tell us what’s good this summer.

Why wine?

I really wanted a wine that I could feel good about drinking. Kind of Wild is organic, zero sugar and without harmful additives or preservatives. As I’ve gotten older, I want to take care of my body the best that I can, and I really enjoy drinking wine. It tastes great and I don’t feel bad the next day after one or two glasses, the way that I did with many other commercial wines. We are also 1-percent for the planet members, supporting environmental causes.

You are a Revlon partner—what is one makeup item you’re never without?

I have pretty much every shade of the SuperLustrous The Gloss ($10.50) lip glosses. Rosy Future is probably my favorite, or Snow Pink; I go through them so quickly. They’re very moisturizing, with moringa oil, and give a dewy shine without being sticky.

What is your summer skin-care routine looking like?

I used to rarely wear sunblock, but I have gotten much better about it. I use a Biossance cream moisturizer and eye cream, and Supergoop! sunblock, which blends in very easily. I like a lighter-weight foundation in the summer, so I use Revlon Illuminance, which is foundation and skin care in one. It has squalane oil and hyalauronic acid, and it gives just the right amount of coverage.

What does your wellness or fitness routine consist of in the summer?

I try to take advantage of the warm weather and be outside for some of my exercise. Connecting with nature is my version of a wellness place. I go for a power walk in my neighborhood or on the beach, then I come home and stream a 28-minute strength training class on Obe Fitness. If I need some time to relax, I go to Happy Feet in Southampton and have a reflexology massage, which totally resets me.

What is one beauty trick you learned for being on-camera—and over a hot stove sometimes?

I think less is more still rings true, even on camera. Sometimes, people think being on camera means more of everything, but I like to have some natural freshness come through. I am not into a super-powdered look for television, I still want to see a little glow. I tend to play up the bronzer, so I look a little sun-kissed and like myself.
