Even if you’re not one of the 9.9 million people following Kat Stickler on TikTok you’ve definitely come across some of her hilarious videos. Loyal followers of Kat know she’s recently gone through a public breakup. This Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day, she is partnering with OLAY to dole out advice on skin care, relationships and more.

“Knowing this is the most popular week of the year for breakups and that some singles may be tempted to text their exes, I’ve partnered with OLAY on a Galentine’s Hotline to give them the help they deserve,” explains Kat. “Instead of texting your ex, you can hit me up on the hotline through February 20th, and I’ll share relationship advice and beauty tips to help you feel like the confident, empowered person you are. It’s the perfect way for you to treat yourself this week and forget about that ex of yours. Just text OLAYGDAY to 80160 to participate.” In addition to getting advice, you’ll also be entered to win OLAY products. We caught up with Kat for a sneak peek of what she might share on the hotline.

You always look amazing on camera. What skin-care and makeup products are your go-to products to prepare to film your videos?

“Being camera-ready for me means starting with a really good base. My skin-care routine is super important to kick off my glam. My favorite moisturizer at the moment is OLAY Hyaluronic + Peptide 24 Gel Moisturizer ($32). Since I live in Florida, where it’s humid most of the time, cream moisturizers tend to be way too heavy on my skin, but this is the perfect formula for 24-hour hydration without the heaviness. I’m obsessed.

After skin care, I really get into my camera glam with a dramatic lash. I use the Kiss Lash Couture Naked Drama Collection ($13) lashes to really give my eyes a boost and make me feel like I’m ready for anything. I also love Wet N’ Wild’s Highlighting Powder ($5), which goes on incredibly with its makeup brush and gets me glowing and feeling good for my videos.”

Can we hear about the worst Valentine’s Day you’ve ever had? We’ve all been there.

“My date said that he had a mandatory work meeting on Valentine’s Day which is why he couldn’t take me out, but I found out he was actually just hanging out with his friends at his fraternity. Thankfully, it actually ended up being the sweetest Valentine’s Day as my dad sent me a limo to pick me up and bring me home.”

What’s your favorite beauty trend you’ve tried from TikTok?

“Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of ‘breakup makeup’ on TikTok, and some of the looks are perfect for a night out with the girls. Much like breakups, no two makeup looks are quite the same, but when worn with confidence, they always look amazing.

As many people may know, I suffered a pretty public breakup which was super difficult. All of a sudden, I had millions of followers watching me at a time when I couldn’t get through a day without crying. I relied on OLAY skin care to help prep my skin and remove any signs of the sob sesh that had just ensued. From the Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Eye Cream ($30) under-eye miracle worker that helped soothe puffiness to the Niacinamide + Peptide 24 Moisturizer ($30) that helped me even out my blotchy complexion, these are just a couple of base essentials before I begin my makeup routine. For the ‘breakup makeup’ look, I love to give my eyes some good drama, for once, with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette ($55).”

“I did once have a run-in with a bottle of self-tanner which didn’t end well. Let’s just say the self-tanner won in this instance, and I couldn’t post content for a few days.”

What’s the best relationship advice you’ve ever received?

“The best relationship advice I’ve ever received is that you need to love yourself before you can love anyone else, so spend the time on therapy, spend time with your girlfriends, and most of all, spend time getting your mind, body and spirit feeling happy and healthy before spending time looking for your next partner. Trust me, it will pay dividends in the end.”

What about the worst?

“’If they are mean to you, that means they like you.’ Okay, so maybe that was back when I was in grade school, but you get the idea. Quite simply, if a guy is being mean to you, then he is not for you!”

Self-care is so important. How do you manage to still incorporate it just as much while you’re in a relationship as when you’re single?

“I’m a big believer that you need to prioritize yourself, whether you are in a relationship or not. I don’t think one thing negates the other. Women have so many hats they need to wear and roles they need to juggle, from being moms to working to being with a partner or friends and family. I really believe if we don’t put ourselves first, we can’t help anyone else. Self-care really is the best care. Happy Galentine’s Day, everyone!”
