You may recognize Jessica Hall as a model, actress and television personality, but the wife and mother of two is also the face behind popular mommy blog Sleepless Mom and part owner of organic skin-care line BB Lifestyle. After picking her brain about everything from breast lifts to bath time, it’s safe to say Hall knows a thing or two about motherhood, all-things beauty and the art of carving out time for some much-needed self-care.
You constantly share fashion, family and beauty advice with your audience. What’s the latest beauty discovery you can’t stop talking about?
“I’m such a fan of beauty. As I get older, I understand more and more the importance of taking good care of your skin. I can’t live without the Skin Recovery Gel from BB Lifestyle and the sheet masks by Aloisia Beauty. Also, I’ve become obsessed with lip scrubs. I think we forget about our lips a lot, and this is a beauty tip I love to remind people of: Take care of your lips!”
Take us inside your current skin-care routine.
“I wash my face religiously. I will never go a day without washing it! Yes, sometimes I’m super tired and I won’t do as good as a job—most nights I feel that way, actually. But there’s just something so refreshing about wiping the day off of your face and placing refreshing, hydrating products onto your skin. I love the eye cream by Miage and I’ve been using the Cloud Care Duo from Agency. I’m a big fan of under-eye patches as well.
Any favorite in-office treatments?
“Dermaplaning is my all time favorite thing. I do it once a month with my facialist Kimberly Benton.”
Your blog is aptly named Sleepless Mom. Do you have any tricks for winding down or carving out some self-care time?
“I love bubble baths and using bath bombs. I’m currently obsessed with these Botanica CBD Bath Bombs. Bubble baths are my alone time that is much needed even if I have to lock the kids out of the bathroom. Since becoming a mom I realize how precious even five minutes of alone time can do for your sanity. I also love body scrubs. My bath time is not only my self-care mentally, but leaves me feeling refreshed.”
You’ve been open about your breast lift and augmentation. Was that a vulnerable thing for you to talk about?
“I was putting myself out there for judgment, which is always scary. But I didn’t think it was right to put this image out like, ‘I just woke up like this,’ when, in fact, my breasts have gone through hell and back, and getting that [breast] lift with Natrelle implants was right for me. I wanted to let my followers know it’s okay to do you. And even if a lot of girls don’t admit getting anything done, I just want to be honest and real about it.”
Why did you decide to go ahead with the surgery and are you still enjoying your results today?
“I decided to go ahead and do it when I realized that I wasn’t as confident in my body anymore. I know after having kids and with age this is normal, but I knew I wanted to do this and do it for me only. I breastfed both of my kids for a long period of time, and the amount of extra skin I had after being done was just too much for me. So, I decided to go ahead with the lift and implants after I felt comfortable enough and when I found the right surgeon. I’m very happy with my results today.”
Tell me about the implant-selection process.
“After talking with my surgeon and doing my research, Natrelle was definitely the best option for me. They are safe and felt the most natural, and I had many friends who already had Natrelle implants and couldn’t be happier.”
What’s something you wish you knew before going into your procedure?
“Honestly, I think I would have gone bigger! [laughs] All kidding aside, it was my very first surgery and I was incredibly nervous, and after all said and done, it wasn’t as scary as my mind made it out to be.”
