While many of us are caught up in the whirlwind of upcoming events—Thanksgiving, the holidays, the new year—my mind and the minds of millions of others are captivated by a different November festivity: the premiere of the much-anticipated Wicked movie staring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
Throughout the press tour for the new movie based on the iconic Broadway musical, we’ve seen a total transformation in beauty aesthetics, as all things pink and green, good and wicked have taken center stage. This weekend, A-listers gathered in Los Angeles for the official premiere of the Wicked film. All brought their A-game beauty looks along with them, like Jennifer Lopez, who sported a Brigitte Bardot-inspired updo. And, we have all the behind-the-scenes deets on her look.
J.Lo Channels Bardot for the ‘Wicked’ Premiere
Wicked star Ariana Grande has gone on record saying how embodying life in Shiz has totally changed her relationship with makeup. It seems that celebs everywhere are following suit, taking inspiration from the classic, Old-Hollywood glam that Glinda the Good Witch specializes in. Jennifer Lopez is one celeb channeling that nostalgic style, as the singer and actress arrived at the Wicked premiere in a Bardot-inspired updo.
To create the voluminous, wispy style, celebrity hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons turned to BELLAMI’s clip-in extensions and his tried-and-true viral TikTok styling tool. “I created her updo with the Bellami Silk Seam clip-in hair extensions in Dirty Brunette Highlight ($310) in 20 inches. I started by doing a bouncy blowout using my WavyTalk Pro Fast-Drying Hairdryer ($80), then sectioned the hair and clipped in my hair extensions in horizontal rows, one row backward at the nape of the neck and one row forward to create more volume. Once the extensions were securely in place, I sprayed the hair with Andrew Fitzsimmons Hair Après Sexe Texture Spray ($16), gathered it up and twisted it to create this effortless Bardot-style updo, and secured [it] with hair pins. Finally, I added two single clips in the front for more volume. I blended the hair for a seamless look, using the Hard Strong Hold Hairspray ($16) to hold everything in place for a voluminous, polished finish.”
