When it comes to characters that serve as timeless beauty inspiration, Rachel Green is at the forefront. Despite the fact that the iconic sitcom Friends aired for the first time in 1994—yes, 30 years ago—people everywhere are still showing up to their hair salons with pictures of early-2000s Aniston pulled up, eager to take on the Rachel Green hairstyle themselves.
Leaning in to her reputation as hair royalty, Jennifer Aniston launched her hair-care brand LolaVie back in 2021, and fans and celebrities alike have been obsessed ever since. The most recent launch from the brand, though, is sure to really get heads turning, as the founder revealed that the new formulation is inspired by the hair-styling techniques used on the set of Friends.
LolaVie Sculpting Paste: The Product That Took Inspiration from the Set of Friends
The LolaVie Sculpting Paste ($29) is the latest addition to the LolaVie family, and the formula uses chia seeds, pomegranates, naturally-derived saps, and a vegan keratin complex to provide a lightweight, touchably soft, medium hold to strands for that effortlessly messy and textured style.
Not only does the 99 percent naturally derived formula use wholesome ingredients to create supermodel-like texture without that greasy feel, Aniston explained in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that the product was inspired by her time in the styling chair while filming Friends.
“We used a makeshift paste on set, and it would be the last thing we put in the hair,” Aniston told the outlet. “We called it ‘dirtying the hair up’, so it’s not so soft and bouncy, and gives it some texture.” Aniston also affirms that Green would be a fan of the product, noting that “She’d definitely use it in her up-dos—I mean, we did. I think she would absolutely use it.”
