If there’s one thing you need to know about actress, host, dancer and producer Jenna Dewan, it’s that she is a master of multitasking. After giving birth to daughter Rhiannon in June, the mom-of-three didn’t have a ton of time before she had to be back on set for The Rookie (now in its seventh season) and as the 43-year-old shares, it’s a literal “baby on board” situation on shoot days. One thing that Dewan doesn’t overcomplicate is her skin care, as she shared with us why she’s so devoted to her continued Neostrata partnership and its products.

How has your skin-care routine changed with the new baby?

I have less time to focus on my own skin-care routine and rituals now. So, it’s about finding products that work, are effective, multitask and cut down the time I spend in front of the mirror. I wash my face with a Foaming Glycolic Face Wash from Neostrata ($40) every day. I use its 15% Vitamin C + PHA Serum ($55) and I use the Triple Firming Neck Cream every single day. Then, I apply sunscreen. Those are a few products that work really well for healthy, glowing, even skin, and sculpting, lift and toning my neck. This all happens in under a minute and I can do it while holding my baby, I can do it in the car, or wherever I need to do it and it’s done for the day. I find great results, and it’s all about minimizing the amount of time I spend.

Is there anything you’ve had to swap in or out product-wise?

When I was pregnant, I kept it even more simple. I was religious about face wash and moisturizer because some products are deemed not safe while pregnant—so I kept it super simple. I even used castor oil as a moisturizer and on my eyes and my eyebrows. It helps with hair growth, or it says it does! I was keeping it super, super simple. Now, post-baby, I’m able to add in a little bit more to my routine, like I said I do the 15% Vitamin C + PHA Serum and Triple Firming Neck Cream, and I added all that back in post-baby.

I know you’ve used Neostrata for a bit. Why are you such a fan of the brand?

I’m a fan of effective results and multitasking products. Neostrata gives me both those things. It’s really effective at keeping my skin even, glowing and just healthier looking overall. It helps me get ahead of fine lines, it helps with my discoloration and melasma and lifting and sculpting my neck—all of these things that I need and I want to have happen so that I feel confident, healthy and my skin is glowing and camera-ready. However, they multitask, so it’s only about three or four products. I’m able to do it really quickly, every morning and night. I want products that work. But I also want products that make my life easier.

How is being on-set with a newborn going?

It’s actually going great! She loves being on set. The set loves her. I have a wonderful cast and a wonderful crew that understands I have a newborn and I went back to work pretty early. They bend over backwards to make sure that I get time to either pump or come back and breastfeed her, or bring her to set for a minute so I can see her if we have long breaks. She hangs out in the hair and makeup trailer with me. She’s probably naturally being exposed to all the girly things because she’s been there just watching it all in the mirror. We just have a great time. It’s a good show to be a part of. There’s no long hours and she’s able to be there with me. I feel really grateful that I have that opportunity as a working mother.

What is the hardest thing about juggling back to school, work and having a newborn?

Everything that you would think. Your mornings are busy, and they start early. Your brain is kind of always going. There’s not as much time to relax, and you don’t have as much time in your days because it’s really filled. I’m used to that. There’s been progression after having Evie and then Callum and now Rhiannon, so I’m used to multitasking; I’m used to scheduling a lot of things at once.

I would just say that sometimes it can be overwhelming and that’s okay. You just need to breathe through it, realize that like everyone under this circumstance would feel that way and just give yourself some grace, take some breaths. Then, step by step, you keep going forward. I always say: “Well, now what do I need to handle for today?” Then you just try to delegate a little bit. That’s been another thing, allowing other people to help you. It’s been a big thing with three kids.
