Beauty brands have increasingly felt the pressure to be more transparent about their ingredients. However, there still is no formal (or legal) definition of “clean skin care.” In fact, the meaning of what is or is not “clean” is left up to the brands to decide and self-report.
The good news is that there are brands creating formulas that not only offer clinical results, but are also made with ingredients we can feel good about. IMAGE Skincare is among them. Founded by Jana Ronert, an aesthetician, and Dr. Marc Ronert, a plastic surgeon, they’ve paved the way in a new category of skin care: “Clean Clinical Skincare.” So, I’m not surprised that one of the brand’s products sells every 30 seconds. I got the opportunity to test its I MASK Firming Transformation Mask, and let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed.
What It Is
According to the brand, the mask was developed to “support the skin’s ability to resist stress that contributes to visible signs of skin aging.” It helps to purify the skin while also improving its texture, tightness and tone. The shimmery-blue color adds to the fun factor for sure, and makes for the perfect self-care share on social.
Key Ingredients
The star ingredients in this mask are hyaluronic acid and a rare pepper berry plant extract. Together they hydrate and support the skin. High-purity clay helps draw out impurities and jojoba beads to gently exfoliate the skin. And like all other IMAGE Skincare formulas, it’s free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, artificial fragrances, and synthetic dyes.
How to Use It
The I Mask can be used three to five times a week as your skin needs it. Apply it to clean skin and gently massage with your fingers for a minute to boost the polishing benefits. Allow it to dry for five to 15 minutes and then rinse it off. Follow with your regular skin-care routine, whatever that includes.
