Harry Jowsey has bravely shared his recent skin cancer diagnosis on social media. On Saturday, April 27, the 26-year-old reality star took to TikTok to raise awareness about the importance of sun safety. In a candid video, he urged his followers to prioritize their health by wearing sun protection daily and scheduling regular skin checks with a board-certified dermatologist.
“Last week, I went to a dermatologist to get my skin checked and they found some skin cancer on me,” the Australia native began. “I’m going to be all good, everything’s going to be okay. But I just wanted to make this post to let you know that summer’s around the corner. Please wear sunscreen.”
The Dancing With the Stars alum was seemingly surprised by his diagnosis. “If you’re a freckly little frog like me, go get a mole map and get your body checked, because you never know,” he continued. “I’ve had this on my shoulder for like a year or two, I had no idea.”
Jowsey urged his five million followers to take a proactive approach to their skin health. “Go get your skin checked, wear your sunscreen and a be a little bit more responsible because that’s what I’ve got to do now, and it’s very scary.”
The host of the Boyfriend Material podcast didn’t disclose the specific type of skin cancer he was diagnosed with. However, in response to his followers’ inquiries, he shared an informative post detailing four types of skin cancer: basal cell, squamous cell, melanoma, and Merkel cell.
Countless followers praised Jowsey for speaking out about skin health. “Thank you for spreading awareness!” one viewer commented. “I work in derm and we find so many skin cancers on people.” Another said, “Thanks for speaking on this Harry! I had melanoma at age 22. I was so lucky it was caught early. Wear that sunscreen!”
He also endorsed a sunscreen recommended by his dermatologist: the Cyberderm Natural Simply Zinc Lite Untinted SPF 50. “She said there are no toxic chemicals in it,” he explained. “I would suggest consulting your local dermatologist and asking them, ‘Hey, what is good? What would you recommend?'”

Jowsey isn’t alone in discussing a recent skin cancer diagnosis. Christie Brinkley also shared her diagnosis last month. Similar to the reality star, she stressed the importance of precautionary measures to followers in the wake of her diagnosis.
“The good news for me is we caught the basal cell Carcinoma early,” Brinkley captioned an Instagram post. “And I had great Doctors that removed the cancer and stitched me up to perfection like an haute couture Dior 👍 The good news for you is that all of this can be avoided by being diligent with your sun protection! I got serious a bit late so now for this ole mermaid/gardener, I’ll be slathering on my SPF 30, reapplying as needed, wearing long sleeves and a wide brim hat. And doing regular total body check ups..that is a MUST !”
