The holiday season has delivered its fair share of swoon-worthy nail looks, including Vanessa Hudgens’ mesmerizing red cat-eye nails that practically doubled as optical illusions. But now, there’s a new manicure making waves on social media: Gracie Abrams’ glossy nude nails adorned with “hand-sewn bows with pearls,” brought to life by celebrity manicurist Betina R. Goldstein.
It’s worth noting that the nail look is a throwback. Goldstein recently reposted the manicure on her Instagram grid seemingly because it’s the perfect festive nail inspiration. However, the singer-songwriter originally debuted the design back in May at the 2024 Met Gala. Goldstein captioned the post perfectly, asking, “Do nails count as presents if they have a bow on them? Asking for a friend.”
If you’re inspired to recreate the look for the holidays, Goldstein shared the step-by-step process on Instagram. “I started off by prepping the nails with #apres ph bonder followed by the #apres primer,” she explained. “Then applied @apresnailofficial Gel-x in color Alex in Natural Stiletto short to add length and shaped them to a soft oval.”
Goldstein also revealed the secret to the manicure’s blush hue: “To achieve that soft blush color, I mixed equal parts of Chanel Le Vernis Faussaire, Chanel Le Vernis in Ballerina and double parts Le Gel Top Coat,” she wrote, adding that she “topped it off with Chanel Le Gel Top Coat.” The hand-sewn bows will definitely take a little extra creativity, but isn’t that what the holidays are all about?
