The fragrance category has seen a major resurgence as of late, and it’s also encouraged me to rediscover my love for perfume. Now, many of my friends are asking me about “clean” fragrances and alcohol-free perfume, and one brand that sits top of mind is GLOSS MODERNE. Recently, I fell in love with the brand’s Clean Luxury Roll-On Perfume Oil in the scent Rêves, a vibrant fragrance with Mediterranean vibes.
What We Love About It
This scent reminds me of a sexy, sunny day in Positano, which is one of the cities I visited on my honeymoon. It’s citrus/lemon-forward, but the vetiver, clove and musk add warmth and dimension. The brand describes it as “a celebration of the wonderment of dreams…an ethereal fragrance that captures the vibrant beauty of a new day on the skin.”
There’s also something ultra luxurious about pulling this chic little rollerball out of your purse. The Italian glass packaging is modern and sophisticated, and the 15-ml size allows you tuck it in your tiniest clutch. You can also apply it discreetly without worrying about spraying something that might land on the person behind you. I not only apply it on my wrist, but also behind my right ear. I choose this side because I always hug people to the left, which means they smell my right side. You can also roll the perfume across your décolleté, or any other pulse points.
The perfume is a rich, nourishing oil, and I’ve always been a fan of oils for their lasting power. Plus, it’s vegan and alcohol-free, which makes it a friendlier option for those with sensitive skin. Of course if you know you are sensitive to essential oils, always do a patch test first. Ultimately, you know your skin.
Key Notes
Top notes include mandarin zest, sparkling lemon and mint blossom. The heart of the fragrance is mediterranean grapefruit, pure ginger and black pepper. The base notes are white vetiver, clove bud and sheer musk.
