Trying to smooth breast and chest wrinkles can seem impossible, especially once they’re deep-set and stubborn. “They can sneak up on us thanks to factors like aging, sun exposure, and even lifestyle habits,” says Melville, NY dermatologist Kally Papantoniou, MD. However, “with the right combination of treatments and consistent skin care, you can absolutely restore a smoother, more youthful look to your chest.”
Chapel Hill, NC dermatologist Sue Ellen Cox, MD notes that “the most effective way to minimize the appearance of aging and wrinkles in the breast area is by improving the skin quality and elasticity in the chest and décolletage.” She explains that “maintaining firm, smooth skin in these areas will help better support the breasts.”

Doctor’s note
Breast health is more important than aesthetics, so be sure to see a board-certified dermatologist for any treatments on the chest, décolletage or breast area to ensure safe practices. “This is NOT an area to treat without being seen by an experienced physician,” Houston, TX dermatologist Jennifer Segal, MD cautions.
Dr. Segal notes that she doesn’t treat breasts with non-surgical devices. “As a rule, I am very careful where breast tissue is concerned and do not use any energy-based devices on the breast or axillae.” She notes that topicals such as tretinoin or resurfacing devices such as Fraxel or Clear and Brilliant are safe and effective for the décolletage, but she does not use them on the breasts themselves.
“Annual physical examinations and mammograms are essential for breast health. Peau d’orange, or dimpling of the skin due to underlying breast cancer, could mimic wrinkles,” notes Dr. Segal.
Prevention is key
The easiest way to avoid wrinkles is to do your best to avoid getting them in the first place. Dr. Papantoniou urges daily sunscreen use as “UV damage accelerates aging and is a huge contributor to fine lines and wrinkles.” Additionally, good skin care can help slow signs of aging. Dr. Cox recommends topicals with peptides for the chest area.
In-office treatments that help fade chest wrinkles
Fraxel
“If you’re already noticing wrinkles and want to improve their appearance, we have some very effective in-office treatments that can help,” says Dr. Papapntoniou. “We love using Fraxel because this treatment works on fine lines, wrinkles and even pigmentation. It’s a real multitasker that stimulates collagen and leaves the skin smoother and more refreshed—all with minimal downtime.”
Ultherapy
Dr. Papantoniou says Ultherapy is another great option, noting that patients love that it’s completely non-invasive. “Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the skin naturally, so it’s perfect for adding firmness and elasticity without needles or recovery time,” explains Dr. Papantoniou.
Hyaluronic acid filler + a biostimulator
“I find that combining hyaluronic acid (HA) filler with a biostimulator (PLLA) yields excellent results for the chest with a series of three sessions,” says Dr. Cox. “The biostimulator stimulates collagen production, helping the skin regain its firmness and elasticity, while HA filler offers immediate improvement in skin support and reduces wrinkles.” Dr. Cox notes that following that up with an energy-based treatment, like resurfacing lasers or Sofwave, can further enhance skin tightening and elasticity.
Microneedling with radiofrequency
“For those who want to improve texture and smoothness, microneedling with radiofrequency is a powerhouse,” says Dr. Papantoniou. “This treatment combines the benefits of microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen and elastin, which are the building blocks of youthful skin.”
