She’s the princess of hip hop with a tell-it-like-it-is attitude. But, just because Cardi B. raps about her fondness for red bottoms (i.e. Christian Louboutin heels) doesn’t necessarily imply she’s paying triple digit (and beyond) price tags for her makeup. Truth be told, she’s like the rest of us and likes a good drugstore staple just as much as the next girl.

Cardi’s makeup artist, Erika La’Pearl, confessed to Refinery29 that one of the staples in her kit when doing the 25-year-old’s makeup is—wait for it—a mix of Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer ($10) shades, specifically the 06 Sand Beige and 09 Tan (Cardi B.’s skin tone is in between a yellow and pink undertone). “I found out about Milani when I had to run to the drugstore because I didn’t have time to go to Sephora to get NARS. It stays in place, though, on the red carpet, at the Grammys, and onstage,” says La’Pearl. Other budget-friendly products she likes include BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Total Coverage Concealer ($6) for under the eyes and concealing spots and NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Nutmeg ($4).
