She stars as “Heather” in the anticipated new series Bad Monkey, premiering on AppleTV+ August 14, and let’s just say that Lauren Buglioli can’t wait until you see her character’s hair. Besides sharing some on-set glam secrets, Buglioli loves talking beauty and treatments and can make anyone a very fast ZO Skin Health convert.
What are you excited for fans to see of you in this role?
I’m so grateful to have been a part of this wild world that Bill Lawrence created, and it was an honor to get to work with creatives and actors who I deeply admire. This cast is stacked! My character is a lot of fun and I can’t wait for everyone to see how this plays out! No spoilers!
Can you share any beauty moments from the Bad Monkey set?
Yes! I absolutely fell in love with the hair and makeup team. Hair, makeup and costumes always help you drop into a character and this team made my job easy! My hair certainly got me closer to God—she has volume, honey! It really worked because I like to think my character Heather’s hair is full of secrets, as she’s a tricky lady. The glam on this set made her even more fun to play.
What are some of your go-to beauty products?
I love Laneige lip mask ($24), all day long. I used to have perpetually chapped lips, and this has been the only thing that has worked for me. My amazing friend and facialist, Carly Holloway at Muse Skin Health & Aesthetics in Atlanta, turned me on to ZO Skin Health products. I’m obsessed with their Growth Factor Serum ($168), Gentle Cleanser ($49) and Daily Power Defense ($173). I owe Carly big time. I didn’t have a solid skin-care routine before meeting her and it has really transformed my skin! The other beauty product I love is Clearstem’s Mind Body Skin supplement ($58). I used to get pretty consistent breakouts, and this eliminated them!
What are some of the beauty treatments you swear by?
I swear by Hydrafacials and dermaplaning with Carly at Muse. I go roughly every 10 weeks if my schedule allows it. I also have gotten religious about wearing sunscreen and The Skinny Confidential’s Caffeinated Tinted Sunscreen ($45) is the best! When I need to unwind or get out of character, I love a good ole’ bubble bath. I will load the tub up with bubbles and Epsom salts and make a mocktail in my fave TJ Maxx wine glass while watching guilty pleasure reality TV. Chef’s kiss!!
What are you excited for as summer winds down?
I’m really excited to spend some time in the mountains this fall. I love to take my dogs to Getaway Cabins as the leaves change, and a friend rented a cabin this year to celebrate his birthday with a group of our friends. I’m a huge fan of the Blue Ridge mountains and a weekend trip is my favorite way to unwind and enjoy fall!
