Blake Lively understood the esteemed assignment of Met Gala co-chair at this year’s Gilded Glamour–inspired event. Arriving in a sweeping, New York–inspired gown alongside husband Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s show-stopping look quickly took over our social media feeds as the long-awaited event made its debut after a two-year hiatus.
Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle was behind Lively’s glam for the night and used a fleet of Charlotte Tilbury products to bring his inspiration to life. “Blake’s look was inspired by warm-toned metals and coppers starting with a bronzed contour on the skin,” says Buckle. “Her eyes were washed with a combination of matte browns for structure and metallic rose golds and coppers to play off her Versace gown. I made her lips a gentle terracotta tone to bring an optimistic brightness to the monochromatic makeup palette.”
On the list of trusted products was the best-selling Charlotte’s Magic Cream paired with the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, Magic Eye Rescue and new Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil to prep the skin, followed by the must-try Airbrush Flawless Foundation and brand-new Beautiful Skin Bronzer, launching May 19. (Not only is the bronzer not available for purchase yet, Lively was the first person to ever wear it on a red carpet!) The Beauty Light Wand in Pillow Talk was used to bring a flush of color to the cheeks.
To create the sultry-steel eyeshadow look, Buckle used the brand’s Eyes to Mesmerise in Chocolate Bronze and Luxury Palette of Pops in Pillow Talk before topping with Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! Mascara. For the signature nude lip, it was Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk Medium, Matte Revolution Lipstick in Sexy Sienna and Collagen Lip Bath in Gold. For Lively’s head-to-toe glow, Buckle reached for the trusty Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body.
