Any great cosmetic dentist will tell you that your smile says so much more about you than the last time you whitened your teeth. “A person’s smile can portray beauty, proportion and many other qualities,” says Atlanta cosmetic dentist Ronald E. Golstein, DDS. New York cosmetic dentist Husam Almunajed, DDS says our smile can also say more about our personality than we think. “Depending on how you want to be perceived—strong, dominant, delicate, calm—we can play with the shape of the teeth,” he says.
While Dr. Goldstein says many patients base their request for their new smile based on celebs in their age range, there are a few common requests. Below, celebrities whose smiles hit the most-wanted list.

Beyonce and Kate Middleton
The celebrity-smile requests at Houston cosmetic dentist Guy Lewis, DDS’s office run the gamut, but the dentist says a few popular ones include Beyonce, Kate Middleton, Sofia Vergara and Julia Roberts.
Gabrielle Union
Brooklyn, NY cosmetic dentist Eugene D. Stanislaus, DDS says when it comes to a smile makeover, the most referenced celebrity in his office is Gabrielle Union. “The reason why her smile is so desired is because it is extremely symmetrical. The right side and left side are mirror images and when she smiles, you will notice that the edges of her upper teeth follow the curvature of her lower lip,” says the doctor. “Additionally, the gum line and the gingival heights of her upper teeth follow the contour of her upper lip. Finally, if you notice, the edges of her upper teeth are even with her eyes. She has a timeless, beautiful smile.”
Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Madison Beer and Hailey Bieber
New York and Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist Victoria Veytsman, DDS says the most common celebrity smile requests are Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Madison Beer and Hailey Bieber. The reason behind the picks? “Their smiles are are wide, vibrant and natural looking,” she says. “They are also perfectly imperfect and not too ‘Hollywood.'”
George Clooney and Matthew McConaughey
Women aren’t the only ones after a smile makeover. In his office, Dr. Lewis says he gets a lot of requests for a set of pearly whites inspired by none other than George Clooney and Matthew McConaughey.
Carrie Underwood
Cranberry Township, PA cosmetic dentist Robert M. Klaich, DDS says Carrie Underwood has been one of the most popular celebrity smiles referenced by his patients. “I believe there are a few key reasons why her name keeps coming up,” he says. “Her lower facial height and dental proportions are near ideal, especially the vertical amount of upper teeth that are shown when she’s fully smiling,” says Dr. Klaich. “Also, her teeth fill the entire width of her smile, leaving no room for dark ‘negative’ space between the corners of her lips and the teeth.”
Cindy Crawford, Christie Brinkley and Melania Trump
Cindy Crawford, Christie Brinkley and Melania Trump are the three most requested smiles in Boca Raton, FL cosmetic dentist Clive Rosenbusch, DDS’s office. “They all have gorgeous teeth but I believe the reason why they are most requested is that all have the most beautiful smiles, which is a combination of their teeth, lips and the way they smile,” says Dr. Rosenbusch.
Kim Kardashian West and Sofia Vergara
Cupertino, CA cosmetic dentist Khalil Saghezchi, DDS says his younger patients often come into their consultations with photos of Kim Kardashian West’s smile. “My older patients tend to ask for a smile similar to that of Sofia Vergara—a very natural, conservative smile,” says Dr. Saghezhi, noting that his patients are veering towards natural veneers as opposed to the “bigger, chunky teeth.”
Jessica Alba
“More and more, everyone is bringing in Jessica Alba’s teeth and want their teeth to look like hers,” says Dr. Almunajed. “I tell them we can use that as a blueprint, and make it work on you, and make your smile a better version of yourself,” he says. Dr. Goldstein agrees: “Over the years, no doubt the most popular celebrity request has been Jessica Alba, who has the most balanced smile to face ratio.”
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jessica Simpson
Powell, OH cosmetic dentist Neal Patel, DDS says his patients most frequently mention Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jessica Simpson when explaining the type of look they’re after. “I think it’s simply because they are not afraid to smile. There is nothing artificial about their smiles, and they are not limited by any insecurities about the beauty of their teeth. Notice the focus on brightness, symmetry and balance in their smile designs. We have the ability to replicate that for any patient.”
Christie Brinkley and Julia Roberts
Dr. Goldstein explains that a typical request among his older patients is none other than Christie Brinkley, “who, despite her age, still has a beautiful smile to keep her face looking young,” he says. “Another common request in this age group is Julia Roberts, who over the years, still has smile appeal.”
Anne Hathaway
Perhaps the most recognizable smile in Hollywood, Dr. Goldstein says his younger clientele most frequently request a smile similar to Anne Hathaway’s. The reason why? “Her smile is perfectly proportioned to her face, which contributes to the appeal.”
You, Younger
While she does get the request for Julia Roberts’ smile often, for Boulder, CO cosmetic dentist Priya Uppal, DDS, the most common smile request in her office is a bit more personal. “Surprisingly, many patients will bring in their own photos from many years ago because they want the smile they had in their youth recreated and enhanced!”
