Whole Foods Market is known for its commitment to fresh produce and rows of clean eating options, but if you’ve never scanned the beauty section, you’re missing out. As with the rest of its products, Whole Foods Market keeps its beauty and skin-care selection super clean, banning 180 ingredients. The store carries beloved brands like Burt’s Bee, Thayers, Weleda and Dr. Bronner’s, as well as new and exciting brands to discover.

March 16 through 22 is Whole Foods Market’s annual Beauty Week sale—so you can score 25% off items and an extra 10% off if you’re an Amazon Prime member. Additionally, Whole Foods Market will be offering a limited quantity of Beauty Bags in stores beginning March 18. Shoppers can choose between the Bright Ideas bag, with products that support glowing skin and the Glow & Go bag, which includes moisturizing products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid. The bags are each valued at over $120 but are going for $25.

To celebrate the savings, experts from the Trend Council have unveiled their annual list of top five beauty trends for the year. If you’re looking for some inspiration before you shop the sale, here are a few trends the experts predict you’ll see in 2022.

1 / 5

Ceramides

The Trend Council sees ceramides rising in popularity this year. These lipids found in skin cells are a great addition to skin-care products to help retain moisture and restore the skin’s barrier. If ceramides aren’t already in your regimen, they should be. Fold ceramides into your day-to-day with products like ACURE Ultra Hydrating Plant Ceramide Daily Facial Lotion ($15) and Undefined Beauty R&R Gel-Crème ($28).

2 / 5

Prickly pear

If you like prickly pear in your margaritas, you’re going to love it in your skin care. This little cactus contains amino acids and vitamins E and K to give you glowing skin. Give your skin-care routine a dose of prickly pear with evanhealy Organic Blue Cactus Beauty Elixir ($47) and Karuna Cleansing Oil ($16).

3 / 5

Sheer sunscreen

If you’re sick of white cast after applying sunscreen, we’ve got good news for you. The Trend Council predicts that translucent non-nano zinc sunscreens that leave less visible residue will experience a boom this year. Grab cocokind Daily Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF 32 ($27) and Mad Hippie Hydrating Facial SPF 25+ ($25) before your next beach day.

4 / 5

Overnight hair accessories and treatments

Taking beauty sleep to the next level, the Trend Council says there are a bunch of new hair products specifically designed to be worn while you sleep. Applying these accessories or treatments before bed will help maintain style and texture, no matter how many times you toss and turn. Try Kitsch Satin Sleep Headband ($7) and Alaffia Beautiful Curls Enhance Leave-in Conditioner ($9) to wake up with the hair of your dreams.

5 / 5

Jellies

In 2022 jelly won’t just be for your toast. Skin-loving jellies are trending. Whether it’s nourishing the skin or removing makeup, the jelly texture adds a bit of fun to your skin-care routine. Trying Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Dream Jelly Face Wash ($10) or ACURE Seriously Soothing Jelly Milk Makeup Remover ($10) is a great way to jump on the jelly bandwagon.
