NewBeauty: Tell me a bit about the new CoverGirl launch.
Ayesha Curry: CoverGirl is now coming out with the Outlast Nudes collection and it’s really exciting because there’s seven different shades and they’re designed to perfectly align with your skin tone and your skin undertone, which is really important when you’re picking out a lipstick. They made it really easy to find your right shade, too. You just choose your skin tone and your undertone and that combination is the perfect nude for you. And they also have a universal nude shade that can work for everyone.
NB: Do you have a favorite color from the collection?
AC: I do! The medium cool is my favorite.
NB: What is your go-to makeup look?
AC: I love a bold lip so much. It’s definitely my go-to. I love to just make sure my skin looks clean and then do a bold brow, a little mascara and then a bold lip. And for those days when I’m on mommy duty, it’s perfect to have the Outlast Nudes collection for when my day is starting a little early because sometimes a full red lip can be a lot in the morning.
NB: What are a few of your other favorite drugstore products?
AC: The CoverGirl brow pencil is everything to me. I love how fine the tip is and I’m able to really get it into my brow and it’s not too heavy. A lot of brow pencils tend to be super waxy and heavy and smudge all over the place but with this one you can really get in there and be precise. Highlighter is all the the the rage right now and CoverGirl came out with a bomb highlighter palette that has three different shades that I love to pop onto my cheek, in the Cupid’s-bow and down the center of my nose.
NB: Tell me a little bit about your skin-care routine.
AC: I unfortunately suffer with hormonal acne so I use this product called Obagi Clenziderm. It’s like this antiseptic face wash. I love washing my face with that. Sometimes I’ll do the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. You just put it on and let it dry and then you sleep in it and it makes your skin so moisturized. Lately I’ve also been really into face oils. I find they’re more hydrating, especially during these cold winter months.
NB: Are there any specific facials or dermatologist treatments you love?
AC: I love a good HydraFacial. And lately there’s a new one called dermalinfusion—I really love it.
