Audrina Patridge Says Her Lip Fillers Have Made Her ‘Feel Pretty’ During Quarantine

Audrina Patridge Says Her Lip Fillers Have Made Her ‘Feel Pretty’ During Quarantine featured image

Today is National Kissing Day, and to celebrate, we’re talking to The Hills actress Audrina Patridge about why many of us still care about the appearance of our lips despite #masklife, the beauty products she’s currently stocking up on, and how stay-at-home orders have altered her daily routine.

First off, I had no idea there was a National Kissing Day. Are you doing anything fun to celebrate?
Neither did I until last year, but how fun is that? Especially during quarantine…I love all these “national” days! I’ll be with daughter [Kirra, 4], probably just smothering her in kisses. Maybe we’ll both wear red lipstick!

Do you like sharing beauty products with her?
Yes, she gets into all my makeup. For her birthday, we got her a bunch of her own play makeup. She likes to help me do eye shadow and lipstick and blush. She’s a girly girl.

Do you think people will still care about their lips as much if we’re all wearing masks for a while?
For starters, I think beauty comes from the inside out, and during quarantine, I think this is a really great time for us to work on self-care and self-love. But I always like to look my best on the outside, too, so even with wearing masks, I still wear lipstick and I still love to feel pretty.

Has the COVID era changed the way you think about beauty?
With COVID, it’s definitely made me take a little bit more of a natural approach with not as much makeup and not curling my hair, but I still wear lip gloss and lipstick. And thankfully with the Juvéderm Volbella I had done a few months ago, I wake up with amazing lips that look really natural. One of the biggest benefits is that I don’t have to overdraw my lip line—I just wake up, throw some gloss on and I’m good to go. And it lasts for so long, so I haven’t had to worry about getting them touched up. So, whether I’m wearing a mask or not, I still feel good.

When you’re wearing a mask, it’s also fun to do up your eyes more, too. I also had hair extensions and I couldn’t get them done because of quarantine, so I took them out myself. I destroyed my hair! It’s made me appreciate even more all of the services I was able to get before.

What are some of your favorite beauty products right now?
I’ve been doing a lot of face masks right now (no pun intended) and there’s this brand called Youth to the People—it’s all green—that has this spirulina mask I love. My skin reacts to it so well and it’s just glowing. I use it twice a week and I’m hooked! Aside from that, I’m also hooked on IT Cosmetics CC Cream. I don’t even wear foundation; I just wear the CC Cream now—I’m shade Medium-Tan.

Have you had to switch up your fitness routine too?
I’ll try to work out every day for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Kirra has been kind of doing that with me, so I got her little 2 pound weights and a little yoga mat, and we’ll sit there together and I’ll try to teach her certain things. Then I really get into my booty exercises while she plays. I’m really enjoying it!

How else have stay-at-home orders changed your general outlook on life?
I’ve loved that it’s slowed my life down a little bit, and it’s made me grateful—so grateful—for things I took for granted, like seeing my family or getting my hair done. I’ve catered to my relationships and friendships more because I have more time—it’s given me more time to focus on my daughter. I’ve also had time to organize my house. I went through every drawer and cupboard in my house and everything is perfectly organized now.
