Audrey Hepburn is one of our biggest beauty icons, and while we constantly look to her for makeup and hair inspiration, she’s also known for her iconic scent. Tomorrow marks the actress’s 92nd birthday, and, coincidentally, it’s also the 102nd anniversary of her favorite floral fragrance, Krigler English Promenade 19 ($425).
Elegant and luxurious, the fresh scent houses ingredients like neroli, orange blossom, ylang ylang, white flowers and grapefruit. According to a release, it also “enraptures the European flare,” as Hepburn reportedly first discovered the scent while filming Roman Holiday in Italy in 1952.
The current head of Krigler Ben Krigler adds that the scent was specifically inspired by the French Riviera in the early 1900s, where the Krigler family fragrance house was built. “‘Promenade’ is a nod to the Promenade des Anglais, a seaside path in Nice,” he says per the release.
English Promenade 19 is still one of Krigler’s best-selling scents, and it now comes in the form of a candle ($105) or as a bar soap ($55).
